Your Energy Level--Food Energetics

You may be familiar with the term, "living foods," and "food energetics" is an extension of this...

"[Food] imparts a living wisdom that is beyond the science and mechanics of calories, grams and nutrient values," writes Steve Gagne in his book, Food Energetics: The Spiritual, Emotional, and Nutritional Power of What We Eat. "Ancient peoples, through their relationship with the plants and animals providing their food, understood that their food conveyed the unique energetic qualities of its source, such as swiftness from wild deer and groundedness from root vegetables."

Most of us are far from the roles of farmer or hunter, and the relationship with food picked directly from the source. And we are missing something... All of our food has life.  Just as a flower wilts slowly after it's picked, so does our food.  The more processed the food, the less life energy it has, all the way down to substances so processed that our ancestors wouldn't recognize it as food at all.

What is your energy level?  How do you feel after you eat?  Are you energized, or are you depleted?  If you are depleted, questions need to be asked about what is your food doing for you? Isn't the purpose of food to enhance our energy?

It appears we may subconsciously choose the food that affects our energy based on mood and outlook of the world around us.  It may be a self-defeating emotion causing cravings for food without life--as like attracts like.  Yet a person confidently wanting the best for their life, their health, will follow healthy eating patterns.
